How to see a psychologist through Red Hill Family Clinic
Step 1: See your GP
Book with Dr Massoudi or Dr Pavasaris and tell reception it is for a mental health care plan, so a longer appointment is allowed. Dr Massoudi has a particular interest in mental health.
Step 2: Get your Mental Health Treatment Plan
The plan gives you a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual psychology sessions each calendar year. Your GP reviews it with you after the first six sessions.
Step 3: Book your sessions
Reception books you with Adele or Marilyn. You can also see them privately without a plan, or with a referral from a paediatrician or psychiatrist. Sessions are confidential.
Our psychologists
Adele Ribnick, Psychologist
Adele is a registered psychologist with over 18 years of experience with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. A former school-based psychologist, she is highly skilled in educational and neurodevelopmental assessments, including cognitive assessments, specific learning disorders such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, ADHD and ADD, and executive functioning difficulties. Her counselling draws on CBT, ACT, schema therapy, family therapy, exposure therapy, grief therapy, art therapy and trauma-informed therapy. LGBTIQA+ inclusive.
Marilyn Cobain, Psychologist
After a first career as a school teacher, Marilyn retrained in psychology and has practised as a counselling psychologist for more than 30 years, in private practice and as a lecturer. She works with adults facing anxiety, sadness, anger or confusion at any age or stage of life, and invites you to talk, to be listened to, and to rediscover your strength as you work through your concerns together.
Fees and Medicare rebates
Psychology sessions are privately billed. With a Mental Health Treatment Plan, Medicare pays a rebate on each session and you pay the gap. Please ask reception for the current fee and rebate. Assessments are quoted separately.
