IMPORTANT UPDATE TO OUR BILLING POLICY

Bulk Bill consultations will only be available to local residents, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm if
– They hold a pension card; or
– They hold a health care card; or
– They are under the age of 16.
At all other times and for all other patients private fees apply.

In hours fees apply Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm for local residents over 16 years of age & without a concession card.

Telephone and video consultations

Telephone and video consultations are available for current patients. The same fees apply for these appointments as with regular in person appointments. Full details on our fees can be found above.

Cancellation policy (GP Appointments)

We appreciate that there may be extenuating circumstances where a cancellation becomes necessary. As appointment availability is limited, we request that you cancel as soon as possible. For doctors appointments we require 2 hrs notice, late cancellations and DNA fee is $40.

Booking appointments

If you would like an appointment with your preferred doctor, you will need to book in advance. For emergency or urgent issues, some appointments may be available on the day. Walk-in appointments will depend on the existing bookings and availability of a doctor.

Home visits and after-hours care

In an emergency or if the practice is closed and you need immediate care, please call 000 or present to the nearest hospital.

A home visit may be available after clinic hours, at the discretion of the GP. Availability will be on a case-by-case basis and an out of pocket fee applies. To make an enquiry, call 03 5985 6662.

Cancellation policy (Allied Health)

For psychology appointments and education consultant appointments we require 24 hrs notice, late cancellation and DNA  is 100% of the appointment fee.

Results Follow Up

The GP will advise you when the results are likely to become available. Please book a follow up appointment to discuss your test results. Results can be given via a telephone appointment or in person.

Repeat Prescriptions

If a repeat prescription is needed and you are unable to book an appointment in time, a one off short script can be issued for a fixed fee of $25. You are encouraged to make an appointment with your regular GP for any subsequent scripts. This provision does not apply to Schedule 8 or restricted medications unless its at the discretion of your regular GP. The fee for this service will be collected at the time of booking.

Management of patient health information

Our practice fully complies with the Health Records Act (Vic. 2001) and the Privacy Act (Commonwealth 1998).

Your medical record is a confidential document, and it is our policy to always maintain the security of personal health information. We will ensure that this information is only available to authorised persons involved in patient care.

If you wish to transfer your records, you will be asked to provide written consent for their transfer. This is to maintain privacy and confidentiality of your important medical information.

We adhere to doctor-patient confidentiality at all times. This means we will protect the information discussed in confidence between ourselves and a patient.

Feedback/complaints

We welcome comments and feedback and have our suggestions form available in our reception area. If you are unsatisfied with any aspect of the services provided to you, please email the practice manager on manager@redhillfamilyclinic.com.au, or call the practice and reception will transfer you through.
