What we offer

GP appointments

Coughs, colds and infections, injuries, prescriptions and repeat scripts, referrals, medical certificates, and advice on anything that is worrying you. Standard appointments suit one or two problems; please book a long appointment if you have several things to discuss or need a procedure.

Health checks and chronic disease management

Health checks for people aged 45 to 49, for people 75 and over, and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. For ongoing conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, asthma and arthritis, your GP can set up a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan with regular reviews and Medicare support for allied health visits. Read more on our Chronic Disease Management page.

Chronic pain management

If you live with pain that has lasted more than three months, book a longer appointment. Your GP will take a full history, review what you have already tried, examine you, and work with you on a management plan with regular follow-up. Read more on our Chronic Pain Management page.

Mental health

Our GPs help patients with depression, anxiety and stress, and where appropriate can prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which gives you a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions with a psychologist each calendar year. More complex concerns are referred to a psychiatrist.

Skin checks

Dr Harry Pavasaris, who has worked in a dedicated skin cancer clinic and holds a diploma in dermoscopy, provides full head-to-toe skin checks at Red Hill. Both doctors check individual moles and spots and can biopsy or remove them in our treatment room.

Minor procedures

Cyst removal, incision and drainage of abscesses, toenail resections, foreign body removal, cryotherapy, skin biopsies, joint injections, and triage and suturing of cuts and wounds.

Iron infusions

For iron deficiency that has not responded to tablets, following a GP assessment and blood test. See our Iron Infusions page.

Sexual health and family planning

Confidential sexual health checks and STI testing, cervical screening, contraception advice, and IUD and contraceptive implant insertion and removal. Medical termination of pregnancy is not available at Red Hill at present; patients seeking that service can book with our doctors at Rye Family Clinic.

Pregnancy and children's health

Shared antenatal care, newborn and child health checks, and childhood immunisations on the National Immunisation Program.

Heart health check and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring

A heart health check looks for the risk factors you cannot feel, such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and gives you a plan to reduce them. Where blood pressure needs a closer look, we fit a 24-hour ambulatory monitor that you wear at home.

Weight loss

GP-led weight management with Dr Pavasaris, who has a special interest in weight loss: assessment, a realistic plan, referrals where they help, and regular review. See our Weight Loss page.

Home Medicines Review

If you or someone you care for takes several medicines, your GP can arrange for an accredited pharmacist to visit at home and review everything, at no charge. See our Home Medicines Review page.

Vaccinations and immunisations

Childhood immunisations, flu vaccines each season and adult boosters. Please tell reception it is a vaccination appointment.
